I have had possible a hundred massages and Red's Ashiatsu bodywork is best I have ever experienced.
-Mark D. Hubbard
Fabulous - exceptional body work! Thank you!! Grateful!
Red is so good at figuring out what's stiff or tender and then using multiple modalities to fix them all! I've had many massages in lots of places over the years and this is by far the best. Try the ashiatsu -- it's amazing how deeply it works without pain.
I had my first massage with Red yesterday, and it was one of the best I have ever had. It was very therapeutic and she was able to relax my hamstrings which were extraordinarily tight. My wife had a massage with Randy that same day, and she said that he was excellent. We will both return.
Here is a peak into the secret life of Red. These shots are from a Massage Jam for therapists only at the Artisan School of Massage in Seattle. A Massage Jam is where we learn from each other, get new bodywork and also goof off! As you can see there are no Ashiatsu bars there, but a sturdy pipe and an aerial silk allow me to do some fancy footwork anyway. Thanks to Laura for the full body crush at the nights end! ;-)
Spent this Saturday doing massage with the portable bar set at Obliteride to raise money for Fred Hutch. I was part of a group of therapists organised by Joe Lavin of Massage Reimagined. A big thanks to the other therapist for being so wonderful to work beside. Here are some photos of the group in action at Gasworks Park. https://www.facebook.com/Obliteride...
Just returned from a 4 day retreat at Breitenbush Hot Springs. Here's a photo of me doing Ashiatsu & Deep Tissue massage outside the Lodge on my portable bar set-up. There will be an Ashiatsu Basics Training in Renton this July 26-28 and a few spots are left. If you sign up for that class, type RED under the code box and receive a discount! Yes, it is Code RED!
This is Janine Ragucci and I being Caryatids* in her new massage space in Leschi. Welcome back to Seattle Janine!
YES, we are holding up her new Ashiatsu bars before installation as an example of how strong women have been supporting more than just themselves over the centuries.
*Caryatid = A human figure acting as a column; a word I learned in Art school.
Back from an AWESOME trip to the Caribe side of Costa Rica & Panama. I had a ton of fun, relaxed and learned a lot. The permaculture farm in Punta Mona where they have been growing food in harmony with the jungle for over 20 years is really worth a visit. Also the islands called Bocas del Toro in Panama are so beautiful that you cannot take an ugly landscape photo. Here is proof, Bastimentos Island on Bocas del Toro is where the beach shot is from.
A Touch of Red will be closed April 2-18 while I travel to Costa Rica and perhaps Panama. Joining a good friend at Punta Mona Center for some downtime on the Caribbean coast...yoga,on the beach and hanging in the jungle watching the animals. Stay tuned https://www.puntamona.org
Punta Mona is one of the most established, bio-diverse permaculture education centers in Central America. We offer certification programs and hands-on training in permaculture design.
Shots from the Self Care Fair. Lily Ilnitsky, LMT supports me while I do Ashiatsu work on a student therapist. Over 25 massage therapists got instruction from Shara Cox with myself and Lily assisting. We taught LMT’s to how to safely use foot pressure during a traditional massage while seated on a stool. No overhead bars needed, especially when Lily is there! Shara Cox flew in from Austin, Texas for the fair to instruct and inspire. Thank You Shara and Lily!
Getting ready for the Self Care Fair tomorrow where I will be helping Shara Cox of Austin teach barefoot Ashiatsu moves that most anyone can do at their practice. Plus I hope to snag a bag of massage goodies! Pictures will be taken, stay tuned....
Self Care Fair is a day of education, nurturing, and support for massage therapists in the Seattle area
Here is a slideshow of 7 photos from Breitenbush Hot Springs Retreat Center that captured my recent trip to the Cascade forest in Oregon. The first is an Escheresque view of a Skylight, then it moves to a pool and it's waterfall, 2 views of a shrine and fall colors. Relax and enjoy!
